Our first beta phase has started
Cloud Spheres is open as of today. Registration, the dashboard and the game catalogue are ready, and ordering opens once billing and provisioning have run cleanly under real load for a while.
Cloud Spheres is open as of today. Anyone who wants to can register, create an account, look around the dashboard and work through the game catalogue, which lists every title we intend to offer at launch. Signing in works with an email address and password or through Google, Discord and Steam, and anyone who wants the extra protection can switch on two factor authentication from their profile. Billing settings can already be filled in completely.
What is not possible yet is ordering. Servers cannot be booked during this phase, and that is a deliberate decision. Billing, automated provisioning and backups all behave well in testing, but we want to watch them under real load for a longer stretch before anyone pays for them. Ordering opens once that period is over. Picking a date in the calendar would be the wrong way to decide it.
We are opening now anyway, for a simple reason. Some of the problems a platform has only become visible once people really use it. That includes paths through the interface that looked logical on the drawing board and feel awkward to click through, text that says something slightly different from what it means, and pages that take longer to load in places where we expected no delay at all. Nobody else can tell us about any of that.
If something stands out to you, the fastest way to reach us is our Discord or the contact form. Both land with the same people who write the code.
