Our voucher terms

Our vouchers are multi-purpose vouchers within the meaning of § 3 (15) of the German VAT Act (UStG). At the time of issue, neither the exact scope nor the applicable tax rate of the service later paid for with the voucher is fixed, because the balance can be used for any service available in our customer account.

VAT therefore only arises when the balance is redeemed against a specific service. Selling the voucher itself does not trigger VAT.

A voucher code can only be redeemed in a registered customer account on cloud-spheres.com, and each code is used once. Redemption increases the account's wallet balance by the amount in euro stated on the voucher.

A single voucher cannot be split across several customer accounts. Transferring balance already redeemed to another customer account is likewise not possible. A voucher code that has already been redeemed loses its validity and cannot be redeemed a second time.

A voucher acquired for payment is not subject to any contractually agreed time limit. The claim to redeem a voucher acquired for payment is, however, subject to the ordinary statutory limitation period of three years under §§ 195, 199 of the German Civil Code (BGB). This period begins at the end of the year in which the voucher was acquired.

If the voucher is redeemed within that period, the balance is credited to the wallet. Wallet balance acquired for payment does not expire once redeemed; § 4 of our Terms and Conditions applies.

Balance granted free of charge, such as promotional or bonus credit, may however be time limited. Any such time limit is communicated explicitly when the credit is granted.

Balance originating from a voucher is not paid out in cash and does not bear interest. It can only be used within the customer account into which it was redeemed and cannot be transferred to another customer account.

§ 4 of our Terms and Conditions governs the refund of unused, paid-for balance upon termination of the customer account.

A voucher and a discount code from our creator partner programme do not exclude one another. The voucher tops up the customer account's wallet balance. A creator discount code, by contrast, reduces the price payable for an order.

The two apply at different points in the ordering process and can be used together on one and the same order.

A voucher code is transferable like cash. Whoever knows the code can redeem it.

If a voucher that has not yet been redeemed is lost or stolen, we can block it from redemption, before a third party uses it, once the buyer reports the loss and provides proof of purchase.

The statutory right of withdrawal for the purchase of the voucher applies against whoever sold the voucher. Where the voucher was bought directly from us, our own right of withdrawal notice applies.

Where it was bought from a third party, such as an online marketplace or retail partner, the right of withdrawal follows that third party's own terms, and any withdrawal must be declared to that third party.

If the customer account is terminated, we refund unused, paid-for balance, including balance redeemed from vouchers, via the original payment method, pursuant to § 4 of our Terms and Conditions. Balance granted free of charge, such as promotional or bonus credit, expires when the account is terminated.
